background, TEAM AND VALUES

History

Bluewater Mission began in 2008 as in independent non-denominational church with a group of about thirty believers,
a team of volunteer leaders, and one office desk in a garage. Within a year, we were renting a gym for large group meetings, had begun sheltering trafficking survivors in a safe home, and had sent off our first foreign mission. During COVID, we moved into our new location in Aina Haina. In 2024, we officially joined the Association of Vineyard Churches and enjoy our partners around the globe.

Mission

We develop powerful individuals who partner with the Holy Spirit to bring God’s kingdom on earth. As a community, we light up a murky world with Christ’s love and power.

our NAME

Bluewater is a sea-going term that refers to vast stretches of ocean. A bluewater vessel is built for open seas and adventure. That’s how we live as a faith community. Out far and in deep with God. Making stories worth telling. Together.

VALUES

Bluewater Mission is dedicated to simple kingdom values as taught by Jesus and recorded in the scriptures. To help keep ourselves honest before the Lord, we’ve found it useful to stress four kingdom distinctives:

Anti-Religiosity

that flows from the Lord’s radical grace

Anti-Materialism

taught by Christ, who talked about money and generosity more than any other moral issue

Supernaturalism

as suggested by the promised work of the Holy Spirit, always making space for the exercise of supernatural ministries and direct encounters with God

Mission Orientation

realizing that following Jesus has always meant sharing in his work
